how many miles does you 2.9 have?

Mine had 197 XXX km on it before the rollover and total distruction of not only the engine, but of everything, and I do mean everything, but the drivers seat and shifter knob.

I was pretty bored so here's a video of taking a drive in my 237,000 mile 2.9, earplugs strongly recommended! :D And yes I need to clean the damn IAC, freakin idles high for too long.

miles

My 88, 2.9 has only 145,000 on it, runs great but like everyone says it could use some balls. I DID have to have the auto trans rebuilt because some bozo put a shift kit in it and the trans was beating itself to death.

84km.... just had a rebuilt put in
but the damn lifters tick, damn shotty rebuilders and I just found out the company went bankrupt...
but luckly i got the gaskets and lifters from them before they went belly up
just got to do them...

64k miles. Motor runs great, it's everything else giving me problems.

187 K on the odometer. Rebuilt it a few years ago and now the speedo is not hooked up due to the doubler so I don’t know what its at now. But the past two years its only been run on the trail. No DD of the BTR. So not many miles put on here after the rebuild, but those trail miles I’ve been really hard on her.

Runs great. Only problem I have is in the winter, cold starting. Starts right up but runs on about 4 of so until it warms up. So I just let her sit and run blowing black smoke until she starts hitting on all 6. And it needs to be on the single digits to do this.

266 and change

My 2.9 has 10,000 on a rebuild, it runs like a top. I don't even remember how many miles are on the odometer.

125k.While not really a DD. I park it for months at a time but turn the key and starts every time.Never have had any trouble with the motor what so ever.

177,000 - 1989 Bronco XLT 2.9 liter and I bought it about two months ago from a nice lady (original owner) who took really good care of it. Won it on Ebay for $1750.00 and It was in very, very good condition. I don't have the heart to mod it too much, because of how clean it is. I have been driving it daily and it runs perfect. I replaced the valve cover gaskets that she let leak for about six years ( really didn't understand why she let that go on so long). Nice to see so many 2.9's still kickin it !!!:icon_hornsup:

I prefer my flowmaster over my glasspack, my muffler is actually a knock-off of a flow 40, its built with the same quality and design as a real flowmaster at half the price ($40).

315000+, dunno exact number, speedo hasnt worked in 10+ years. Had 270,000 on it then. Had 1\2mile when i rolled it off the lot new in 87.

Runs like a champ, rubber in 3 gears. Love the 2.9.

later,
Dustin

72,689 on the original engine & tranny. Found it sitting in the woods & bought it for $250.00. Had to replace the tires & battery. Have repalced the tranny & exhaust system as well as the front & rear springs & brakes. The engine purrs like a kitten & is strong. Turned her up, replaced the wires & other things & now I am happy. It was in an estate where the owners had died with no family to claim it. I LUCKED OUT BIG TIME. NO RUST anywhere & it's a Eddie Bauer Edition.
