There are much bigger trucks than that around... the trucks they use at mines would run that over and wonder what the bump was.

I have a 2002 extended cab-shortbox F-150 with the 5.4. I like it, rides nice, gets decent milage and tows like a dream.

Of course there are bigger out there, but not for highway use. That class is about it.

Yeah, the Pete sure is pretty. The Volvo has all the comforts of home and more storage than you can shake a stick at.

We'll see what the costs come through like. That will make the biggest part of the decision.

It's a tough decision. I only got the KW because the decision was made for me. A 2007 with 180k on it for 50 grand. I really wanted a Freightliner Columbia that was loaded with goodies but it was not nearly as good of a deal.

The KW was small in the cab area, and only marginally better in the bunks. It did have a fridge and APU though so I made it work. The only really good thing about that truck was it was ungoverned and could pass almost any other big truck uphill.

I used to drive a Columbia and it was a POS. My co-driver and I drove it 1300 miles to Nashville with an overheating/slipping clutch. Took the Freightshaker dealer 4 days to fix it. That thing never really did drive properly.

Really? I am glad that KW came along then. I beat it silly and it never complained.

I love all my Fords:icon_bounceblue:

'72 F250 camper special and Ranger trim. Powered by 429/C6 with cam, headers, etc. Has massive aftermarket sway bars front and rear. Corners like a sports car. It'd be my DD if I could afford the gas.

1977 F250 4x4, 400m, C6 (actually a 77' F150 cab and front clip, on a 74'' Highboy 3/4 frame, from what i was told, with a big honkin flatbed)

Last year I picked up a 1996 2wd F250 351W X-cab long bed to replace my POS 1982 Dodge D150 beater truck. I paid 1000 for it and then took the Dodge to the junkyard when scrap was up and got 500 out of it which was 400 more than I paid for it. I've mostly used the thing for hauling parts and fuel from the junkyard and sometimes for towing. It's there when I need it and keeps me from getting grease in the bed of my Ranger which makes it well worth having around.
