So, I try to act like Chip Foose from time to time and help other owners envision their projects on paper. What I mean is, I like to take peoples vehicle's + dreams and render them. The fine gracious moderators on this fine site are letting me advertise my services as a trial run for a deal. So, with no further a due, here's my work. If you are interested in me doing one for your rig, PM me and we'll go through how this works.

I've also done these as gifts too.

Anyway, I'm really trying to raise funds for a set of 4.56s for my D30 right now, one of these will go a long way in getting me there.

Why thank you...one of the next pieces that I need for the operation as a whole is to buy a good scanner so I can post better images of my work.

niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice work!

I'm thinnking of doing one of my truck, see how lift and tire combo will end up.

yeah you should use photoshop it would look more professional if you were good at it.

I know a guy who started out doing thing like this just for fun, then he got into photoshop and got really good, now he does it as part of his living.

Here's one of his pieces

I have photoshop actually, and Illustrator...I think the hand rendering is becoming a lost art, so it's something I try and keep alive. I also would want a nice scanner too...

The digital touch ups I'm not against, it's just another layer of expenses and learning curve that I frankly don't have the patience for...it would cut into my profit which in turn cuts into my mod money...maybe someday

Yeah definitely don't stop the hand drawings no matter what you do.

I appreciate digital BUT the Sistene Chapel wouldn't be nearly as interesting......annnnnnnnnnnnd I could have done it myself with the right equipment....

KEEP THE HAND-DRAWINGS ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

those look good.....what do you use? looks like a combo of marker and colored pencil.

i have a degree in industrial design and i used to do this back in my first couple years. they made us master hand renderings before they let us get near photshop and illustrator. but i agree, hand rendering (and sketching) is becoming a lost art

I use markers as a base, layer up with pastels, then blend in with colored pencils, and do highlights with colored pencils. The pictures of the renderings kind of makes them look a little more grainy than what they end up, but that's what I'm left with for now.

My degree's Interior Architecture and Product Design. Had 2 semesters of product design, and that's how I ended up learning the illustration skills. The blueline of the "Chicayne" was actually done for my class Illustrations in Product Design way back in probably 2005. Geesh, that drawing's 7 years old now that I type that, I didn't even realize that.

prismacolors? that's what i always used. nothing like spending $3 for a frickin marker. i usually had a white colored pencil and a white pastel to do accents. i havent done one in forever, wonder if i've still got it lol
