I've got an 85 2wd reg cab shortbox, looking at lifting it a but, but not too much. I'm looking at a rough country 2" or 3" block kit, this much lift won't alter your drive shaft angles to the point that something could break will it? And could something like this also be used along with lift shackles if I ever wanted to go higher?
Also, what's the best way to lift the front 2"? Maybe its just my eyes, but a B2 seems to sit higher than a ranger, do they have longer coil springs in the front? Or should a guy just find or make a 2" spacer to sit under the coil springs?
One last question, what would be a decent shock that would fit after this lift? Are the shock extension bolts attached to stock stocks on the front worth anything? I'm sure I would need new shocks for the back though

Something I just remembered, 2" on the front won't be too much for my stock camber bushings to be re-aligned will it?

most ppl install 1-2 inch leveling coils/spring wedges on the front of the truck all the time, just a camber adjustment and your there. wouldnt surprise me if stock 4wd springs would get you where you want. the rear of the truck you could prob just rob the ubolt/block assembly off a stock 4wd truck and use it. (my 93 4wd has 3 inch blocks and 3 leaf springs factory). as for your newer truck sitting higher than your ranger look at the age of the vehicles. springs/shocks etc wear down over time, could be just the fact that the front end has a lot more miles/yrs on it than your mazda. just my theory/way of thinking. plus if your just using factory 4wd parts to lift the front and rear end you can use stock replacement 4wd shocks as well.

I don't have power steering, would I need a drop pitman arm? I would like to also do a body lift in the future, should I grab a 2-4" pitman arm and put it on now, to avoid buying one later? Or do I even need one with this setup?

On a 2wd just weld in a drop cage and go as high as you want. :icon_twisted:
