How hard is it to replace center band on 94' Ranger?

Well, I just found out after dropping the pan that the band tightner was laying in the bottom of the pan. I think the band is broke, is it a complete tear down to replace it?

Not quite an easy task. You will have to pull the trans out and tear it apart to replace it. At that point you may as well overhaul it. Be careful if doing it yourself, 94-95 model years can have some year specific parts such as drums and sun shells.
