How do you seal slightly loose fitting heater hoses?

I got a 2.8, and the thermostat bypass hose I swear they used two different sizes on each end of that hose.

The top intake nipple will loosely accepts a 1" dia heater hose. The bottom casted nipple will tightly accept a 3/4" inch heater hose, and very loosely a 1" heater hose.

I can't seem to find any 7/8ths heater hose, and the last time I replaced it, I used a elbow with one 3/4" and a 1" nipple as an adapter.

I got some 1" heater hose, and thinking can I just put some RTV silicone on the nipples and tighten it down, wait 24 hrs and I should have a good seal.

I'm trying to make this coolant system hold pressure well, and noticed some seepage around that hose, it was deteriorating also.

All my hoses are 5/8" and there is a special junction nipple that splits the hose between the heater core and intake manifold where a 3/8" hose runs into it...so getting the 5/8 to 3/8 stepdown T connector worked well and is a common connector (in Canada)

But you're running the 2.8 so they may be slightly different...

Do you mean the old style screw tighten??? Those rust out after a few years...I like the stainless steel ones with the screw drive...they never rust (almost never) and are fairly inexpensive...I don't like the OEM screw types at all...all of the ones I've had to work with simply crumble when you try to remove them...

I got that wire clap making tool thingy........ cost $20 for it and a 200' spool of wire ....... I even used when for a CV boot clamp, and a HP power steering hose that broke, no leaks on the power steering, saved me $40 for a new hose

where did you get that?....and is it wire wire, or is it more like "band" wire...
