Ok I feel like an idiot right now but I can't figure this out. I am putting a D35 in place of my D28 and I am lifting it in the process. I tried installing 6" lift coils to my truck but I don't really get how they work. All that keeps the beams from falling is a little bent shaped L holding the coil???

Ok, so you line it up and twist it? And the little tab holds it all on???

Yes.

Some people add a hose clamp or a J hook to the coil bucket.

Ok I see. Every time I push down the coil pops off!

Do I need a coil spring compressor to install these correctly? Its hard to get the coil to twist and turn on the j-hook. I get it started then let the beam hang on its own weight and it barely stays on.

I knew I wasn't stupid...but probably a simple solution I could have figured out. I was frustrated as hell!

Thanks again!

j hook im pretty sure bolts in place. the thing that holds the weight inst that J hook, its the shock at full extension. Some people run the bump stop in the middle of the coil co they can be unloaded.

oh great idea! I'll build a J-hook tomorrow when I get some time. But for now I'm using hose clamps until i get shocks and build the j-hook!
