Some of the older models had a code reserved for KOER (maybe KOEO, not sure) tests that indicated that the A/C was on (which apparently it wasn't supposed to be during normal tests...). Otherwise, yeah, it shouldn't really care. Considering the reputation Ford has for its oh-so-wonderful spring lock connectors and the respective reliability, a broken/non-working A/C is almost a given on anything older than about 7 years. That being said, you really wouldn't want a code being thrown...
