Hey guys im trying to put my 4.0 in since the 3.0 was junk. How in the hell do I get these old 3.0 motor mounts out so I can put the 4.0 mounts in? The 4.0 came out of a 1998 explorer but my truck is a 1999. How do I get these old mounts out so I can put the 4.0 in? Thanks

Are you talking about the lower mounts. If so, there is one 18mm nut holding them in from the bottom along with one line up pin. If it is 2wd it is really easy. If it is 4wd you have to drop the driver's side front chuck bracket off the frame and use a flex head ratchet to get them off. The only mount that should be different is th driver's side expo mount. The studs are reversed. Other than that they should drop right in. You could just swap the driver's side plate to engine mount from the 3.0 to 4.0 and be okay.
