Hello again ragnor stator, the ol' screaming turkey 98 horses of thunder in my 93 is not doing so well. Since I've owned the pig it's run rich as all get out and has had a slight lifter tap. I've changed the oil in the panty dropper 9000 a few times, and every time I've done it the lifter noise has gotten slightly worse, and then promptly goes back to "normal." has the ghost of Henry Ford come to haunt me? Because this time it's not too happy with being maintained, I'm almost actually worried it'll eat up a cam lobe. What are the odds that a set of lifters will actually fix my issue? I've only seen one other person do lifters in their truck, and it did not help. I am confusion.

Technically lash adjusters but yeah... they don't fail too often and your symptoms don't make any sense but could be one of them... One of the things the Lima's are known for is recessed valves in the heads which would screw up the geometry.

I have heard of broken valve springs before, not too common and wouldn't make too much sense here.
