Here's a challenge. Since the US never had a Mercury based truck like a our neighbors to the north, will someone make a Mercury out of a Ranger? Also, what would be the name? Mercury in the past did a lot to make their cars look different from their Ford cousins. The name would be similar to the names they have used now or in the past. Another suggestion: Rumors abound that the Mercury division will become a performance or European division. Maybe give this Mercury some muscle or handling attributes.

Any ideas????:icon_confused:

I hope not. Brand generalization is what killed GM, among other things. There's no reason to produce the same car with slightly different sheet metal across difference brands.

A Mercury version of the Ranger would be just that, a Ranger. They're either close enough that they are the same, or they are competing directly, which will decrease the sales of both.

I am in favor of Mercury differentiating themselves from Ford. From what I've seen, Lincoln has done a good job of this. While they may share a platform or two, it seems like every Lincoln I seen on the road does make me think immetiadely of it's Ford counterpart.

Have any pics of the Mercury truck? I know I can search, but if I am going to do the PS, give me something to go by . . .

Here's a link that has a lot of pics. Now they stopped the <ercury line in 1968 and sold only Ford after that. Course the main differences were the tailgate & grille. Don't know if it will help though.

Ironically they did have a Mercury M-100 Ranger.......

it would be cool if they came out with a ranger based truck with a V8 from the factory throw in a leather inteior and some nice chrome pieces and i think it would sell

Oooooooohhh, I was thinking there was one more recent. I would have no idea where to start and if they did it would probably be under the Lincoln name similar to the Mark LT - that might not be a bad idea . . .

Course the biggest Mercury identity would be the waterfall grille. Course if this fictional truck is part of the "New Mercury" we've been hearing about I would want the Flying Mercury Head logo on the truck. And to make it easier do the truck based on the Euro Ranger we've been seeing.

Now I see how your truck got that way - to ease the headaches you had to make modifications . . . just kidding - but damn stop thinking . . . :icon_rofl:

Ok - My voices said - Lincoln Mid-Size Mark XLT - Hazmat Ranger Version

LOL - Thanks - but you are going to need the bumper, mirrors, lights, fogs, side skirts, side steps and rims . . .

I'm not too fond of the truck. But the PS skillz are impressive! Props given bruh!!

LOL - I agree - you have to keep feeding it high octane fuel and one day may grow into the Mark LT

Thanks . . .:D
