What is the thin metal disc in front of the crank sprocket called? Is it reusable?

Also while you're here... what's a good way to get the crank sprocket off? The crank is about 7" long there...

Lol. I told my brother in law one of my fav jokes to say to people who have the same shirt on as me. "hey we are wearing the same shirt, we should makeout!"
It always catches people off guard cause they usually start to say "so what" but stop and either look at me weird or laugh their ass off.

Your a friggin tease!

Ha, that is funny we were both wondering the same thing today! What cam are you going with? Do you have a pic of the engine with the accessories on the front?

It is an 'oil slinger'. It slings oil droplets up to the timing chain and fuel pump eccentric. Reusable.
