hi guys, im new on this site! and i have a little question, how i suppose to remove the fuel hose on the fuel filtrer?! look that picture to understand what im saying. thanks
yep, go to a parts store and ask for a fuel line disconnect tool for 5/16" and 3/8" sizes, should be one tool with one size on each end and cost about $5
If it's the same design as the one I worked on at the motor, the spring collar inside the fitting can be a bitch to open because dirt and such gets in and 'wedges' the spring shut. Don't give up, it might take a while.
with it that rusty I would imagine it's not going to be super easy... push the tool in until it stops, then push the fuel line toward the filter then pull apart, the last couple steps are key, if you just push the tool in then pull they don't like to come apart.
I bought one of those tools and it was worthless. On my 2000 2.5 I used a small headed screw driver and popped off the clips. Those clips do not come with the new fuel filter so don't lose them. Places like autozone and all the other clone autoparts stores don't carry the clips but I did find them in a mom and pop autostore so its possible to get new clips if you know where to look. I would imagine ford sells them.
