Ok so I am new to ford rangers and recently I bought a 1988 ford ranger with a 2.9l v6 and the horn. Does not work because in the steering Columbia there is a part that is spring loaded to make a constant connection to the steering wheel so you can beep your horn no matter where your steering wheel is turne... And the spring loaded part is broke. It is the part that touches the copper plate in the wheel. What is the part called so I can buy one.

Are you sure the horn button is not on the end of the turn signal stalk?

Not in '88. That was only the very early trucks. In a way it was a better idea. Just so much harder for people to get used to.

This, since you asked.

Oh, I feel really dumb now.:icon_twisted:

Also called the sliding contact.

And I caught that "steering Columbia" as well. Got a little chuckle out of it.
