Where is that dumb relay at ?? can't find it and I think it's shorted out, my horn don't work, and the contacts in the steering wheel are burnt.

dang nab it.

thank you

oh, it's a 88 ranger supercab, 2.3l fi.

i think i have the same problem... press the horn, and it clicks.

mine don't even click, I get a "pop" and some smoke from the steering wheel and a blown fuse, I took my wheel apart, and the contacts on the back are burnt.

dang nab it to all and a hen in a basket.

If you don't have cruise control, there's not a relay.

You likely have a short to ground somewhere. If it only pops the fuse when you press the horn, check the wire to the horn (otherwise, the cigarette lighter is on the same circuit). Besides correcting the short, cleaning or replacing the burnt contacts, also make sure that the fuse isn't too big (#16; it should be 20A).
