Well......Not a very good introduction to this forum. I just spent the last HOUR typing up my hello and writing about my Ranger, then went to insert some pics, and CRAP!!!!...ALL of what I wrote was gone! Disappeared-Vanished! WTH, WTF! It wasn't like I left my computer for a period of time and when I came back it re-set itself. I haven't left this whole time! I have never had that happen on any other forums. How Bizarre.

So....I just bought a 98 Ranger XLT Extended Cab 3.0V-6 auto, all power, 180,000, newly rebuilt top-end, incl. water pump. Once I got serious about getting a truck, the Ranger was the truck I wanted. In my opinion, Ford Rangers are just superior to all others in this class. I wanted an extended cab, as new and in as good of condition and as dependable as I could find for $3000. I really wanted all power (locks/windows/cruise) and V-6. Really wanted a manual shift, but when I found this truck, I had to accept the automatic. I bought this as a daily driver and a parts/equipment mover so I can put my project car up on jacks and rebuild the engine & tranny. There are a couple of pics at bottom, including my current project.

I am looking for a copy of the 98 Ranger service manual. if anyone has an electronic version they would like to share I would appreciate it. They have one on my project car's forum (95 Acura Legend LS) that is a PDF file on a sticky. It has been a real help. Thanks in advance for any help!

I really like the opening doors to access the rear cargo/seating area!

Looks like a good set of vehicles you've got there. Not too crazy about my 3.0L auto, so I'm right there with you when you say you wanted a stickshift. So whats the plan for the Legend? RB26DETT?

Welcome to the forums bud, I actually want to hear more on the Acura! I always loved those, that has to be the cleanest one I've ever seen. Nice wheels and brakes. Rangers damn clean too.

True dat.^ Wish my p.o.s. was that clean. It's all door dents and cracked rusty paint from here on out, boys!:thefinger:

If you don't check the "remember me" box when you log in, you get "un-logged" after a period of time (not sure how long, though). I've had it happen a number of times.

That aside, welcome to TRS from a former Austin resident!!

Howdy,!

You caught my attention with the title of your thread. You've obviously got great taste in vehicles, but as far as universities go, well... *ahem, cough cough*...

Being an Aggie alum, I had to give you crap. I've worked on quite a few Integras myself, along with Hondas and Supras. My current money pit is a 1970 Porsche though, and my Ranger has been reliable and never let me down. Gotta love these trucks!

Welcome to TRS, and hope to see you around.

Regarding service manuals, the Hayes / Chiltons manuals are more than sufficient for all of your needs regarding repairs and disassembly, and definitely worth the $18 to keep in your hardcopy library. However, TRS has the largest selection of user information about Rangers out there, and you should be able to diagnose all of your problems using our Tech Library & also using the "Search" button.
