Hey im looking into getting a cowl induction hood for an 83 ranger. They do make a cowl induction hood for 83 to 88 but they are ugly and don't flow nice. the 90 to 92 cowl hoods have much better flowing lines to them. So my question is would the cowl induction for a 90 to 92 bolt right in to the 83 without any other body modifications? I really want to have to do a front clip swap. If not then I will be designing and fabrication my own cowl hood.

if that were the case......they wouldn't be listed as non-compatible

you need to swap the fenders, grille, lights etc to use the newer style hood, i bought, and fiberglassed a cowl onto my stock 1988 hood

just swap out the nose on yours to an 89-92 you can find them around very cheap and its a straight forward simple and inexpensive swap

I have been thinking about making my own "ram air" stye hood or maybe using a boss 302 or 429 scoop.
