homemade exhaust pipe bender

would it be possible to make an exhaust pipe bender similar to a regular pipe bender, like the hydraulic one from harbor freight, but on a smaller scale? could it work or would the pipe just crush? for my next trip to the junkyard im thinking about cutting all the decent non-rusted 2 1/2" pipe i can n try out making some different exhausts.

It may be possible. It depends on how good the metal is. I'd probably just cut and weld pieces like gwaii is doing to his headers. Here's a link to the homemade tool thread, it has some ideas;

thanks. ya i think i might just pick up the cheapo mig welder from harbor freight n just go that route.
