Hockey Pucks?

Turning one of my Rangers into a mudder,94 ext4x. Already installed 2" lift kit and 2000 Explorer leafs, which give a nice firm ride, even with a +500lb atv in back, but also lifted the rear big time.
Question is will Hockey Pucks take the stress of being under the front coil base to level/lift it 1" in front, or will I have to do like my F250 and weld a stack of big Ag washers together under the centering base?

Yes they will take the stress, the washers are better though.

Your making a mudder and using hockey pucks?

Just do it right and buy some lift coils! I'm sure you can find a set of used coils for a hundred bucks somewhere.

No, don't do it. A hockey puck is thick, but ultimately, it's a toy. It may seem strong at first, but after a few hot/cold cycles, a hockey puck starts to get brittle, cracks, and fragments into bits. I've got a bag full of 'em. We no longer want to play with it, much less rely on it for vehicle structural integrity (esp. at high speed).

OK, Thanks.
I'll look around for springs,if nothing I'll go with the steel washers under plate and weld em up. A mechanic suggested the hockey pucks to me, but seems like they would be better left to body/bed lifting not suspension.

They would be better left on the ice....

A stack of washers welded together works like a charm.

On TTB trucks the thickness of the spacer is usually multiplied by 1.5 to get the actual lift height in relation to the tires and how the truck will sit.

Hockey pucks make nice cab mount spacers, but I wouldn't even think about using them for anything suspension related..
