As for uploading photos, if you can get photobucket on your phone then you up load them to that then you copy the IMG code then paste it to the messgae box on here and it should show the picture after you submit the reply.

Ok so my issue was my intake. It wasn't sealing well against the heads. Goin to pick up a new one from the shop where I got this one from.

Glad that the issue has been found but Im sad I couldnt score it off you. But Glad to see a picture of your setup but here on TRS, we are picture whores. Start a build thread and post as many pictures as you can of everything along with all the details that you can!!!!!

Looks like you are using the cork gaskets under the ends of the intake. I would suggest just using a bead of RTV instead. Just my .02 though

I would go with the fel-pro rubber gasket personally. I've used them and had good results but kept the vehicle for 6 months afterwards so I can't tell you how they fare in the long run.

if you are using the speed pro 4 valve releif pistons, and normal head gaskets and if the pro comps are unmilled, i would bet you compressionis close to 8.0-8.5, i used the same pistons on a 302 i put together with the 289 54cc chamber heads and my compression is on 9.2 to 1, also i would ditch the 570 avenger carb just get you a 600 vacuum secondary or the 500 eledbrock carb if you are gonna drive the truck alot, and of course get your intake leak
fixed....

I use rtv only too. Napa right stuff if I have it.

Ok so the lates update is a very very sad one =[
Got the new intake on and was adjusting the carb when a tick started. I had thought I was hearing one before then it started to get louder and turned into a knock when I put the new edelbrock air gap intake on. I pulled spark plugs and it goes away when num 5 is pulled. I pulled the oil pan and pulled the rod cap. Not lookin good.

This looks like a chip in the skirt to me but I havnt inspected the piston yet. I noticed it in the previouse picture then blew it up.

Danger-Nope so I think I'm gonna look for a running HO block and put my stuff on it then run it till I can get my block rebuilt.

Ok so I found a used block, cleaned it up, put new gaskets in it and finally fired it up today. I had the timing off by a few deg so I warmed it up adjusted the timing and got her idling nice. I started adjusting the carb and heard a funny sound. There's no exhaust just open headers so it was fairly loud. I look under the truck and there's water pouring out. I ran around, shut her down and got under there with a flashlight. It came from the #8 cylinder and I got up and looked at the intake and it was leaking from the back bolt. Gonna replace the intake gasket tomorrow and try it again.

Ok new update! Got her runnin real good. Replaced the intake manifold gaskets and she is a new woman! Gotta get a rear drive shaft lengthened, exhaust hooked up and a speedo cable then I can test drive her! Should get paid this week so hopefully next week I'll have it all done. Then I'll work on makin her a looker!
