hmm motor died when in 4low

Was up playin around today an got into a lil snow. I put it into 4low an started spinning my way through it. Somewhere between me stopping an shifting into revers it died.

I could hear something clicking in drivers side hub, and the abs ligh,battery light, an a check gauge light came on. The truck wouldnt start untill I took it outta 4low then it started right up.

I tried it again an spun my way in till I stopped then let off the gas an she died. same story.

Any Ideas on what would make this happen?

The only thing the hubs could cause is a vacuum leak.

As to if a vacuum leak would kill the motor, I don't know for sure, but it sounds like it is in your case.

Does your 4WD work properly?

those lights come on when the engine stalls. that is normal.... but i think he is right about the vac leak

ok that makes sense.

Yes the 4wd works. Had to use it to get back to the main road. I just stayed outta 4low. I was in both 4-hi an 4-low yesterday an didnt have an issue with the stalling out.

I'll start tracing the vacuume lines though.

man if I could make it do it, down at the dealership I would take it down there. Still got another 2 months left on the warrenty

Just thought of sumthing.

If it was a vacuume leak wouldnt it have died soon as I had shifted into 4low? Intead of it dying after making a run down the snow?
