I'd like to see some pictures of different hitches and how they fit up underneath the bumpers. I've seen some that are pretty hidden and some that just look god awful gross hanging down.
The one I have hangs down a fair amount, but it was from a first or second generation. Mine is a 3rd. I will try and get some pictures tonight of my ranger, my roomates ranger and the neighbors ranger. they are all different hitches I belive.
no pic, but the one i got hangs down exactly 2.5" the width of the frame. 2.5"x2.5"x.250" crossmember with the hitch-box butt-welded to it and gussetted with .250" plate. made by EAZ-Lift who, unfortunately, is out of business. that thing has taken more punishment in the form of hard pulls, snatches, and impacts (makes a GREAT skid ) than you can shake a stick at.
heres another one i took just yesterday, dont know if it will show it anymore clearly. was on the truck when i bought it. its been repainted several times. has 3 mounting bolts per side.
