I recent purchased my '06 Ranger and am undoing the crappy wiring job the previous owner did as well as ridiculous bolt ons, like 150-200lbs between a brush guard and 10,000lbs rated trailer hitch.
I replaced a burn out high mount brake light yesterday and while I have the assembly off I thought about what I could do.
1- convert to cargo lap; just need the housing, small brake light lamps would suffice and I can tie into the dome light right behind the high mount. There is an aftermarket led option for this-- but I really like stock looks.
2- paint negative arrows on the two wing sections and install 2 turn lamps (one on each side) then wire into existing turn indicator harness and presto, high mount turn indicators.
3- convert to solid high mount brake light. Add 2 brake lights to make a completely illuminated bar. There is an after-market led option for this.
Really want to go with option 1 but am having trouble tracking down a high mount assembly w/ cargo lighting option... any leads?
