high miles engines

any high miles 2.3 engines. I think of getting newer ranger

Duratec 2.3 2005 reg cab manual tranny. 319,500 miles. still runs great but its now using a quart of oil every 1000 miles.

I hate to say it , but the only thing I did to the actual engine was plugs & wires at 180,000 miles. "sort-of" engine stuff was an alternator and fan clutch a few years ago.

always had full synthetic oil, recently switched from 5-20 to 10-30 hi-mileage.

Just turned 121,000 miles last Friday and still runs like it did when I drove it off the dealer lot when I bought it new back in 2008. The only thing that I have done to it so far is new plugs and plug wires. I have been running 5w-20 Motorcraft oil and Motorcraft filter the whole time so far.
