I replaced the fuel pump and housing assembly on my '99 FlexFuel and now it has a high idle. I bought the correct fuel pump assembly for the wheelbase and Flex Fuel option and now it gets stuck at a high idle whenever I accelerate. The bad thing is, if I DON'T touch the gas pedal, it idles so low it almost stalls out. I replaced the whole housing only because it seemed to have been ready to go out and there was a code for a fuel level sensor stored in the PCM. Did I get a bad part or did I mess something up during installation? I did notice that black, rubber "filter" was not on the new housing assembly.
