Hey Guys I have a question I have a 91 2.9 L engine that when cranked goes to a high idle for 3-4 secs then smooths out where it is suppose to be does anyone have any suggestions on things I could look at or replace?

I believe it is supposed to do that. I think the computer is programed that way.
Thats normal for those. My sister has a 91 explorer 4.0 liter and it does that.

Ok I have found something I would like to ask about. I bought my truck from a guy who swapped out a 2.9l from a 91 ranger into the 87 body. He switched wiring harness and for some reason left the 02 sensor unplugged. Is this going to affect the way it runs? It still has the high idle on start but soon goes down to a normal idel and runs fine. I would plug the 02 sensor in and see how it runs but I cant find where it is suppose to plug into the harness at. Any help is much appreciated.
