Just noticed this last night, my high beams won't work if you push the multifunction switch forwards, but if you pull the switch back (like to flash your lights at someone) they come on and so does the indicator on the dash.

So my question is; is the switch kaput? Or does it simply need cleaning? Like in the "phantom wiper fix".

I'd clean it it's only a few screws...if that doesn't fix it then try replacing it

I had a 95 go bad, replaced it ($99 - Ford) found out the lights still didn’t work, put the old back in.
Where replacing the old one, found the connector was broken in one pin location.
Epoxied that pin in place, added a ty-wrap to hold it in place and all worked out.

Sometimes if the connectors are dirty or broken, when you pull on the switch for flash you more the switch enough to make some contact and when you push for highs it doesn’t move the switch enough so it remains a bad connection.

Thanks guys, it decided to work for the most part today so I'm thinking it might just be a dirty contact. I'll try ripping it apart on my day off. If I remember I'll take pictures and maybe submit it to the tech library.
