these are for a BMW but I think you can piece it together.

I can't find that ricer forum that had detailed instructions for taking the lenses apart but I copied it so i got it somewhere.

you may have to copy and paste the ebay links........ and by the by for an off road vehicle i would be there with ya but not for a street driven vehicle. you really need to do it right as funds allow. I could have done my toyota for $150...... gonna cost slightly more to do the Bronco and more time consuming because I can't fnd diamond cut or clear lenses for it.

as soon as i can afford to do it i will thats really cheap for replacement ranger headlights and for the BMW lights with HID kit.hopefully when i'm ready i can find them cheap again.

ok so my plan is to put up more pics of the install and kit cause that DDM kit is awesome the balasrs are super slim and the kit is really cheap for what you get.

I'm kind of confused, so naturally I got some questions. I hate the stock lights on my truck they are very dim compared to my wife's new jetta. My truck looks like Floodz but is a 96.

1) Did that kit just simply bolt on? (In a manner of speaking, looking at the difficulty & time)
2) Do you have High and Low beams?, If so do they function with the stock switch?
3) Would the same kit you (floodz) work for my year?
4) What was the part number for the kit you (Floodz) have?
5) What is the difference in the 12000K, 30000K, and the 35w 5000K that Jon581 has?
6) And what was meant about them being illegal? (cuz I hate getting pulled over and don't want to attract anymore attention than I already do)

Part of my issue with the last question is that I do not understand how the brightness of the bulbs are expressed via the 15000k or what have you. Are all the bulbs 35w and the 12000K, 15000K and so on change to effect the brightness of the bulb? Just a little confused and this is defenantly something that I would like to do to my truck in the near future. I hope that all understand what I meant by the expression if brightness. Thanks for the help.

Oh and btw Floodz and Jon581 those look really nice on the truck.

HID's are only legal in an HID projector beam pod. the 12,000K number determines the color range, the lower that number the brighter the bulb.

before buying HID's try cleaning your lenses with lens polish, and use a solenoid to draw power for your headlights directly from the battery and use your headlight switch to turn the solenoid on and off.........

1)it really is just plug and play you just have to mount the hi/low actuator and the balasts.
2)floodz and i both have the same hi/low and it does work with the stock switch.
3)floodz kit is a 9007 so it should be the same you can do a search and find all your bulb # online.
4)the 3,5,and 12000k determine the color like BDAB said also they sell 35watt or 55watt kit i went with the 35watt lit also the bulb brightness is determined by lumins.
5)alot of people here say they are illegal in there state i really don't know about it where i live the best thing to do is to try and find light law's where you live so you know.
and thanks
and if they make aftermarket projector's for your style truck i recommend getting them with the HID's

taken from another site.

Your're making the road more dangerous than it already is by adding a HID kit to your car. so please do HID the right way by doing a retrofit.

HID kits are illegal due to the glare that they cause. Glare is Light that is emitted in a Uncontrollable path. When light is traveling in a uncontrollable path it can hit other vehicle operators affecting there vision because of the High amount of uncontrollable light that is being Emitted from a HID kit in a standard Halogen housing. If you have ever turned a flashlight on right in front of your face while it is dark out, that is the same feeling that the other drivers on the road experience from a standard HID kit.

OEM Vehicles such as Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Lexus are all equipped with HID or Xenon Headlights. Some use reflector housing’s without projectors. Others use HID projectors.

The Lexus IS300 is a Prime Example of a HID reflector housing. It does not use a Projector. It uses a Specially designed Reflector housing that is meant to use HID. This does not create the Super sharp cutoff. But it does control where the light is being Emitted.

Other vehicles such as the Honda S2000 Use HID projectors, These Projectors are meant to use HID. They are Specially Designed and have been tested Hundreds of times to get the right projection of light while maintaining a Good Cutoff.

Article stating why the kits are illegal.

To date, NHTSA has investigated 24 HID conversion kit suppliers; all investigations have resulted in recalls or termination of sales.

yea all 93+ rangers bulb parts number is 9007 i beleive. i wonder if my HID's are illegal to have. my housings are just regular Altezza housings and mine are 7k bulbs (Arctic Blue). is it all HID's are illegal without correct housing? because i see people every day here in cleveland with them and none of them have correct housings. hmmm.

i think it is illegal everywhere but i dont think it is enforced very much.

Im with daniel, I see people every day with hid conversions on regular housings. A bunch of my friends have em too and none of us have ever gotten pulled over for it. (knocks on wood)

do they check that stuff in state inspections? we dont have them here so i have no idea

its not enforced very well here (by police) but plenty of people just driving will
a buddy of mine did the same conversion woke up 1 morning all of his lights were knocked out and he had a post it note on his window said 'i got rid of the lights get rid of the bulbs"

o jeeze, thats harsh. Im not sure if they check it inspection either cause I dont have it either.
