I can't find that ricer forum that had detailed instructions for taking the lenses apart but I copied it so i got it somewhere.
you may have to copy and paste the ebay links........ and by the by for an off road vehicle i would be there with ya but not for a street driven vehicle. you really need to do it right as funds allow. I could have done my toyota for $150...... gonna cost slightly more to do the Bronco and more time consuming because I can't fnd diamond cut or clear lenses for it.
Thanks for getting things back on track, guys. Some good info here.
I'm kind of confused, so naturally I got some questions. I hate the stock lights on my truck they are very dim compared to my wife's new jetta. My truck looks like Floodz but is a 96.
1) Did that kit just simply bolt on? (In a manner of speaking, looking at the difficulty & time)
2) Do you have High and Low beams?, If so do they function with the stock switch?
3) Would the same kit you (floodz) work for my year?
4) What was the part number for the kit you (Floodz) have?
5) What is the difference in the 12000K, 30000K, and the 35w 5000K that Jon581 has?
6) And what was meant about them being illegal? (cuz I hate getting pulled over and don't want to attract anymore attention than I already do)
Part of my issue with the last question is that I do not understand how the brightness of the bulbs are expressed via the 15000k or what have you. Are all the bulbs 35w and the 12000K, 15000K and so on change to effect the brightness of the bulb? Just a little confused and this is defenantly something that I would like to do to my truck in the near future. I hope that all understand what I meant by the expression if brightness. Thanks for the help.
Oh and btw Floodz and Jon581 those look really nice on the truck.

Your're making the road more dangerous than it already is by adding a HID kit to your car. so please do HID the right way by doing a retrofit.
HID kits are illegal due to the glare that they cause. Glare is Light that is emitted in a Uncontrollable path. When light is traveling in a uncontrollable path it can hit other vehicle operators affecting there vision because of the High amount of uncontrollable light that is being Emitted from a HID kit in a standard Halogen housing. If you have ever turned a flashlight on right in front of your face while it is dark out, that is the same feeling that the other drivers on the road experience from a standard HID kit.
OEM Vehicles such as Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Lexus are all equipped with HID or Xenon Headlights. Some use reflector housing’s without projectors. Others use HID projectors.
The Lexus IS300 is a Prime Example of a HID reflector housing. It does not use a Projector. It uses a Specially designed Reflector housing that is meant to use HID. This does not create the Super sharp cutoff. But it does control where the light is being Emitted.
Other vehicles such as the Honda S2000 Use HID projectors, These Projectors are meant to use HID. They are Specially Designed and have been tested Hundreds of times to get the right projection of light while maintaining a Good Cutoff.
Article stating why the kits are illegal.

To date, NHTSA has investigated 24 HID conversion kit suppliers; all investigations have resulted in recalls or termination of sales.
