HID projector retrofit for 3rd gen

Anybody buy them diamond cut headlights for the third gen and use the Morimoto Mini H1 Retrofit kit in their truck or know of anybody who has done it? I'm really thinking about doing this to mine.

HID is a sore subject around here. It has started many battles, much bloodshed. I am glad you are looking at a kit to do it right. I might get one for my big rig.

i came across this link in a thread on a different forum. makes me want to attempt the same creation he has, but i know mine won't be nearly as clean. post 18 he starts the projector swap

I'm thinking I'm going to paint the inside of the lens, the old reflector, and the case of the projector red to match the truck.

I know about Jp7's project on R-F. I was actually wondering if anybody has done it to a third gen. I was really thinking about it and ended up trying a projector retrofit instead of just running HIDs in in plain reflectors.

yeah....... I don't like those cheap ebay kits. they tend to be crappy.

better than the housings that the ebay companies try to sell IMO. and its been done on here somewhere before.

That's what i'm worried about... I'm thinking that I could F-glass them into the reflector and then paint the reflector and the inside of the housing red to match. might look BA

do you guys have a vacuum former for plastic at your school? i was thinking of doing a retro fit and making my own shroud that will go around the stock headlight bucket up to the projector lens and have a spot for a large halo for a DRL

I'm sure we do... but i have no idea where. That would work really well though

The ones I got have a halo around ring around the lense
