Has anyone on here done a conversion on their truck to HID's? I am very interested in doing it on the '90 BII but i would like some "reviews" on how well HID's are in the stock housings.

I did it on my truck...but its a bit newer than yours. Light output is 10x better than what they used to be

Use the search function, Bro. This topic has been brought up a few times already. Ebay has a bunch of HID kits for all makes and models. Look there. I know a few people who bought kits on Ebay and love them and they are easy to do. But...you need the kit to convert to HID.

I got a '90 model ranger and i put the euro projectors on it from ebay and got some 6k HID's from a buddy of mine who runs an aftermarket shop and i love them the kit was plug and play and comes with a lifetime warranty (which i believe most kits are plug and play) but i love them and you can get them for the older trucks.

Do you have pics of the install of the projectors? I have seen it done but i would like to see it done on a BII with the 90 headlight assembly. Thanks for the reply guys

All kits come with instructions. Google the instructions it if you don't know how to do any electrical work...or take to a shop and let them do it for you. It is an easy install if you have the skill.

PM me and I will explain everything you need to know about HID's.

I don't understand this obsession with HID kits.

Please review your state and federal DOT regulations concerning HID conversions before proceeding.

You are not alone. I would like to take a hammer to every incorrectly aimed HID that has ever shone in my eyes. I fantasize at times about using something like a captive bolt gun to break every HID headlight I can find. I see no need for a headlight that is brighter or aimed differently than stock on the street. If you drive off road or otherwise have a need for more light output, auxiliary lights are cheap and easy enough to add to any vehicle. Just my 2 cents.

I LOVE my HIDs and will never go back to regular bulbs but i live in the middle of no where and hardly ever meet anyone while driving at night but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Don't most all new cars have HID's or the Xenon equivalent?

Unfortunately, and soon enough they will all have blinking lights all over them and emit sweeping frequency sounds as they go down the road. I think DOT approves near everything that someone claims is made or done in the name of safety, whether it has anything to do with safety or not.

DDMtuning for a quality HID kit... a lot of the eBay kits are cheap...and made cheap.

that being said, don't do it to your headlights IMO, its probably illegal and its painful for other driving around you. get good headlights and then get some Hella's and do the HID conversion on. i have a thread on here about my HID Hella Conversion. worked out great..extra light when i need it and regular headlights for when people are driving towards me I DON'T BLIND THEM, I'M NOT "THAT GUY" THAT EVERYONE HATES....
