I have not played trucks for 20 years. I will probibly use u alot. I got a 87 bronco II for 500 my goal is to have it trail ready for under 1500. my problem is the passenger side spindle is siezed up. both the hays book and the chilton book say just tap it with a rawhide or plastic hammer..... YA RIGHT. I have tryed everything I can think of short of a smoke wrench(torch) and i realy dont want to heat up the spindle as I may change the temper. any sugestions

I get mine off by laying a piece of band steel on it and hit it with a real hammer.Try to be nice to the threads or you will be trying to take a one off some where else.

Welcome from another Oklahoman - where you located? I'm central, there are a few others from Okie land here too.

I'm not fully following what is seized. The rotor? or the axle shaft through the spindle? or something else?

Sorry, no answers, just questions...

I have the roter off and all the bearings off. The Axle shaft spins free under the spindle. The spindle and the spindle cup are siezed to the steering knuckle. I am from Newkirk. up in North Central Oklahoma

Welcome, We have a strong B2 following around here. You will need some heat to get that off. There is a decent mechanic there in Newkirk at G&B Auto. Next to the NAPA.

Greetings from Norman!

Heat it and pop it off...

Mine was pretty tight on one side, pulled the nuts, sprayed it with PB Blaster and soaked it a couple days and rubber hammer got it off but it is a tight fit to start with so may be a pain. Can't see where reasonable heat would cause permanent harm myself.

Sounds like you all are going to have a good trip, Steve Lewis was telling me about it - I don't trust my 89 4x4 even out of town much yet but hopefully by this summer the Explorer 4.0 and trans will be in and the D35/8.8 later this year. Will trust it more then.
