I picked up a 2000 ranger XLT 4x4 for my son and I to fix up, the engine had been severly overheated. I thought we could rebuild the one we had but, the heads and block are both cracked. It's a nice truck from Texas, midwesterners understand the benifits of a "low salt" diet for cars and trucks. I have been hunting for a good used engine and am having a hard time finding a decent one. Hoping this forum can help with interchange and parts sourcing.

Welcome Joe and son! Got the same truck and had the same problem, so did a guy with the same truck at work. Must have been a bad batch of something. You might want to do a search on car-part.com for the motor. I've always had good luck with them. Good luck, lots of good people here to help.
