Hi folks. 99 ranger cargo lights issue

Friend of mine brought me his 99 ranger maybe it’s a 2000 it’s not gonna be any different for the issue. When they shut the door the cargo lights come on. But the cargo lights do not come on or off when i use the dimmer switch. The left rear brake and parking lights do not work so I’m gonna replace those bulbs tomorrow if the wiring inspection checks out. But the issue with the cargo lights coming on when the door is shut is very odd has anybody come across this before? They do not turn off except by opening the door

1999 interior light wiring below, 2000 will be the same

Cargo, and interior Dome, light have full time grounds so need 12volts to light up, so not ground activated

The door switches are Grounds that go to GEM module, so no way the door switch itself could sends 12v to cargo light, even with a short

The interior light relay maybe, its activated by the GEM, but there is no direct path wiring for the 12v to the cargo light, and I would expect dome light to also come on, if it was a relay issue
