I’m not sure if the forums still a thing like they were in early 2k era. But I’m Mike and I’ve stumbled across a 93 2.3 manual ranger. I’m so lost on this $500 turd box but I’m a ford man through and through. So back to this ranger as stated I paid $500 for it the P.O claimed it had a fuel issue and it would run on brake clean. Well now that it’s in my possession I’ve found out quick like that it can’t run if there’s no spark, fuel pluse. (Noid light) and of course fuel. Well my daughter works at autozone so yeah I used her employee discount and bought a new fuel pump assembly. Noticed that I also have no power at the pig tail. So now I’m stumped if I should pull the cord and get a new pcm. (Which maybe a waste of money) or say screw it and just sbf swap it

Whoa, there, cowboy. Unless you're made of money, let's do some troubleshooting before writing unnecessary checks at the parts store.

First of all; Welcome to TRS! Nice truck.

Now. Go ahead and start a thread for this issue over in the proper place. Maybe here;

If there's no power at the fuel pump, we'll probably start you there. But, you need to understand that when you first turn the key on, the pump is only energized for a few seconds to build pressure. Then it turns off until the engine is actually running. You can bypass this feature for troubleshooting. But. When you spray ether (brake cleaner????) And try to start, does it fire and burn the ether until it's gone? Or is there no combustion at all? If none at all, then, it may be wiser to troubleshoot spark first. Go ahead and get a proper thread started.

Hey,yeah I agree I’m not loaded with money. If I was I wouldn’t be asking questions on this turd box. I bought this truck to take some everyday driving load of my 20yr old 5.4 super crew f150. I hate figuring out electronics and electrical diagnostics. But as stated I have no power to coils, fuel injectors, or fuel pump. Also no lights on dash when key on. But when I go and spin it over it will illuminate some dash lights. I’m not sure if it has a cam/ crank sensors. I’m just lost on it

Sounds like you need to start with checking power and ground connections. Please start a thread where I recommended since this is just the introductions forum. We’ve got a bunch of people who can help walk you through this. What’s your location? Profile just says USA.
