I am new to TRS but have been reading the post and have found them very helpful.

I was wanting to lift my 98 ranger just a bit to stiffen the suspension because it sags quiet a bit if I am hauling a load or tow a trailer.
I saw where some have posted about the belltech 6400 shackles and was wondering if these would work on a 2wd?

Or should I invest in a add a leaf set or something similar?

first welcome to trs Ranger Jack, the belltech 6400 shackles will work. IMHO I'd do the add a leaf that will be better for what your wanting to do..

no problem, if you do the belltech 6400 shackles your springs will be the same as you have now. your truck will just sit a little higher. if you add the add a leaf your adding to the spring rate and making them stiffer so they won't squat down as fast,, hope that makes since?

yes that makes a lot of sense..I am wanting to lift it a little but also stiffen it at the same time. I didn't think the shackles would stiffen the suspension at all.

Try doing some coil spacers on the front if it has coils, or crank the torsion bars 1 or 2 notches if it has torsion bars. Sorry, I'm not too familiar with the 2.5Ls. Welcome to the Station Jack!
