Hello, just signed up here. Recently purchased a new 2011 Ranger as a daily driver to replace my '01 Focus. Looking forward to tweeking it as time and money permit. Hoping to get some good advice here along the way.

Rob.

...so I guess 2011 will be the last year for the Ranger?

Hey welcome! Thats a very nice truck.

And yeah, its the last year for them so hold onto it!

Welcome to TRS fellow Canuck!

Nice truck...probably not much you want to do under warranty...that's one of the nice things about new vehicles...

welcome man! i have a friend out in the edmonton area. theres plenty of ranger boys out west. Your gonna love this site!

Welcome, good to see another albertan on the board!

Sounds like I signed up at the right place.

Yeh, was looking to replace my '01 Focus for a long while now. Our crappy roads here in Calgary, Alberta are really hard on a little car. We've had the Escape for a few years now and I enjoy the 4wd during our long winters so wanted something similar. I didn't want to drive a full size truck around with nothing in it so I decided to pull the trigger on the Ranger while I still could. (think it's a mistake for Ford to discontinue it, oh well.)

Been thinking about some basic mods; bed liner, tonneau cover, maybe intake and exhaust. One thing I've been thinking about doing is putting some 1" wheel adapters on to widen the track width a bit. Any thoughts on that?

Haven't been on here in a little while. Figured I'd stop in again.

Well, last year I traded in my red 2011 Ranger Sport 4x4 for a red 2011 Ranger FX4. Should have seen the look on the salesman's face at the dealership. After I showed him the codes on the inside of the door and explained to him I was after the 4:10 gearing and limited slip diff then he understood.

Anyways, since then I have been enjoying the Ranger very much. It tows our trailer well and handles our Canadian winters and crappy roads with no problems.

I'll have to post a separate thread to elaborate about it. Here's a pic heading out for some camping last year.

Ah, nice little upgrade there...and when I first opened the thread I saw the date and thought maybe you'd come back to post a pic to replace the wonky link in your first post...lol
