I have 1994 3.0 mazda b3000... temp is usually 30% now it's 50-70%...it's still in normal range but a little warm for comfort... I live in Houston and I know it's hot... I'm a teacher and need a dependable ride... how concerned should I be?

btw... I bought a new thermostat to change out but one of the bolts is rounded off and won't come out for anything... I don't want to snap the top off and cause bigger problem a week before I go back to school but I also don't want overheated truck... thanks, Johnny

I'd say you have a problem somewhere...water pump maybe?

I've got a '94 B3000 (now with 206K miles and a MT that decided to internally stay in 4th gear on Wednesday). Last summer (usually humid and upper 90s here in Alabama), I replaced my entire A/C system including condenser, flushed radiator, and new thermostat. After that, my temp gauge stayed pretty close to the low temp mark, say 10%, while driving 70 mph...during the Winter just barely above the cold mark. Before that work, it stayed pretty low anyway. That's why I changed the thermostat. I wondered if the thermostat was stuck open or partially open.
