I bought (for stupid cheap) a 98 single cab 4.0L 5 speed stepside. It has a good working transmission but the engine burns oil. A lot of it. Also, I can't keep the fuel pump running on it. I've replaced the whole sending unit in the tank and I'm super frustrated with it. From what I've read, the fuel pumps or electrical are not good. So I may be on here time to time to ask questions. Thank you!! By the way, the picture is what I have. For now.

Welcome!! Super cool full size and thats an awesome combo for the ranger. 4.0 amd 5 speed in a single cab will be a hotrod when you get it fixed

check the ground.
also the fuel cut-off switch/connector. they like to get hot & crispy.
