Well i am new to this board and to the lowering of ford's.. when I was just a little lad i had a 1984 GMC choped top that was already lowered. Now that i am 25 years old I want to do my own Project. I have a 1994 Ford Ranger XLT. here are a few pictures of it as it is now.

after i get this bad boy on the ground then i am shaving the rear bumper. i want the full truck to have a smooth look. I am going to make the bed smooth on the inside and move my gas cap to the inside of my bed. I can weild some so it might be alright but i am going to try and not **** it up to bad. Hehe. This is going to be a project.

here is my first fabercation. it still needs some work.

Where are you going to mount that antenna?

i have not looked yet but i will find a spot most likely. Just trying to get the full smooth look so i can start weilding on my bed to fix it if ican not find one at a good price

I decided today not to go with the shaved door handles and antenna. it will probley be cooler to do chrome handles and just leave the rest.

Here in Indy, if your going to show your truck, my brother is a judge for a JEGGS show and he has always liked the "shaved look", but I"m like you....... I like the chrome handles look! Have fun, I just sold a 1999 Red GMC S-15 lowered 1.25 off othe ground, and I had everything shaved, but I missed the chrome handles.

OK after alot of thought i am keeping the shaved door handles and the antenna so when i mount it i will post pic. But due to my little time i have during the week this is what i got done today.

this is the passenger sides. the only one i could get done until my Dremel died on me. I was using it to cut my U Bolts.

this is what it looked like before i changed it.

what kind of problems might you have with the shocks compressing to far with this lowering kit? is it even a problem or do the bump stops make it a non issue?

those nuts dont look too rusted on the u-bolts, you should try some penetrating oil and a breaker bar (if you dont have an impact).. mine looked pretty much the same and they zipped right off with an impact..

keep up the work and the pics :yahoo:

stock shocks blow out quickly with more than 2 inches of drop. Lowered shocks are mandatory.

Here it is lowered I have to replace all the shocks still and get 2 inch drop coils for the front.

a thought on tools: Dremels are great, i wore out my first one and im close to needing a third. but an angle grinder for 25 bucks somewhere cheap is well worth it when doing things like cutting off ubolts.

i got a black and decker about 2 years ago. it served me well enought for me to realize that it would be worth it to me to invest in a good one (Milwaukee 5" 12A variable speed). its definately one of those things that is a must have if your doing much customizing. i have primarially used it for cutting. it has been a life saver.

just my $0.02
