i have a 99 ranger auto trans v6 3.0 and i here a sizzle noise when i am in reverse only could yall tell me what to do plzzzzz

a sizzle noise? like something sizzling when your cooking, kind of a whining noise? if it is i have the same noise i dont know what it is might be just vibration but i wouldnt worry about i havent had any problems with it

O sounds like your muffler bearings are worn. Its going to be really hard for anyone to help you with any diagnoses with such a discription. You might try and narrow it down. Maybe have someone drive slow and pinpoint the noise?

when i put it in reverse sizzle noise like u cooking bacon but if i put it in drive i dont hear a sizzle noise and in coming from the transmission

Did a cat or small furry animal crawl up by your transmission? It could get pushed toward the exhaust when it gets put in reverse. :icon_thumby:

I would check the fluid level and stuff, but a location of the noise would help.

it sound like its in the transmission pan or where the sifter cable connects to the transmission thats the two spots where i can really hear it
