is it worth it and how much do you have to scuff the paint and all that because i need to go up over the bed rails the previous owner that had it before me had a topper on it and i guess he didnt put a seal between so now i have bare metal that i do not want to rust

herculiner is definantly worth it. for 89.00 you get the whole kit to do a 7-foot bed. it comes with a gallon of herculiner, scuff pads, roller, pad, and brush. just scuff the paint till its all dull, then hit the bed with a good degreaser like prep-sol, NOTHING WITH LAQUER OR ALCOHAL. sorry, i just need to make that clear. put on about 2-3 coats, and let er sit about 3 hours. but dont use the bed for one day. hope thois helps

ok cause i dont use the bed for anything really heavy mainly just to haul my motorcycle and four wheeler from place to place

i have herculiner in my 1970 Bronco. it was done by the previous owner so im not sure if he did it properly but it is pealing up a lot now. im assuming that he only did 1 coat though cause its very thin when it flakes off.

well i have already planned on doing quite a few coats because i can pick up a gallon of it for 30$

That's only por-15. Herculiner is good for your hootus. I've never been impressed with herculiner. It will deteriorate from UV rays. Unless you use the UV stabilizer which is even more money and most places don't stock it. I have yet to find any of it in stock at autoparts stores in my area. That is what causes it to fade and peel.

they sell the uv stabilizer off of their website for 20$

xylene is the stuff your supposed to use. be carefull when you get a can cause i had a few cheaply bought cans. turns out all the rubber solidified in the bottom. never got broken up easy. it should sound liquidy if ya shake it

uv blocker is worth it. without it, it turns grayish in a year or two.

I put hurculiner in my cab/bed and I love it. I haven't really had a problem with the sun, but I ride around with a cap on most of the time

where are you getting it for $30. I have been thing of doing it but would like to do it to both of my trucks.

I have a spray in bedliner (rhino-line)....... after a few driveway-liners.

It is well worth it if you can any way afford it!!! but a roll on will stop rust better than a drop in (those are hell on your bed)
I would be extremely careful if going over bed-caps with a roll on.
