help!!

a4ld. goes into any gear fine but only tries to move under high rpm. feels like the emergency brake is on but i checked it out and that is not the problem. i put new filter and fluid, new vacuum modulater. did not help it any. anyone know what the problem is?

sounds like a bad torque converter, or your tranny is on its way out. how many miles?

If you got 160,000 out of an a4ld just consider yourself to be very fortunate and start shopping for a remanufactured trans.

A4LDs will go the life of the truck if the fluid was changed every 30k like Ford states.

Anyways, if the fluid is original at 160k then yes i'd say the tranny is shot. Look for a pre rebuilt and tested one. Or a brand new one if you've got the cash.
