ok, I replaced the 2.9 liter in my '88 ranger with a 4.0 liter and I've almost got the wiring right but im having trouble my ranger will crank but wont stay crunk unless I hold a rag soaked in gas over the air intake. This suggests to me that my fuel injectors aren't firing right. any suggestions as to what to check Ive checked everything I can think of many times over.

I have actually been thinking of switching from efi to carb just for the simplicity factor. Does anyone know what kind of intake manifold I need and where I can get one

thanks

do you have the intake tube from the air box hooked up to the throttle body?

i know if i remove the tube off of the throttle body it will stall the engine...

yeah ive tried it both with the hose attached and without i dont know what to do tried all the sensors they work i dont know where my problem is id really like to know if anyone knows where i can get a carb set up for it so i could bypass alot of the electric stuff on there

ok my 4.0 has a distributor less set up does anyone know if you still have to set the timing on something like that?
