:icon_welder:i own a 200 ford ranger 2wd and need to know what year explorer would be the best doner for the 5.0 swap i still want every thing to work as if it was original if at all possible?!!!!

p.a.t.s?

so i dont have to wory about the theft system or will i need to incorporate it into my ranger?!!:icon_welder:

tramnsmission?

and what do i use for a tranny i would like to keep it a standard but if auto is easier than thats fine with me!!!!:icon_welder:

you have to reflash the ECM for a standard, and i just noticed your truck was a 2wd, so engine mounts and oilpan may be different(unless you have torsion bars then its the same)

as far as theft system, if the explorer wiring and ecm has it, then you have to add it, or you can get a mustang harness and computer and run that on the explorer motor

harness

the mustang harnes wont run my factory guages will it? i dont mind running the explorer harness and i dont have torsion bars so what do i do about mounts and oil pan will a mustang duall sump work and theres got to be aftermarket motor mounts right?!!!!!! :icon_welder:

Does your truck had the anti-theft in it now? I Just now noticed that it doesn't if its the 2.5. tf it doesn't you might use the '97' Explorer computer (no PAT's), wiring and sensors. With the later Explorers, you will have to add a couple of modules or get that function deleated by a program. No after market mounts made, there is a guy who has the plans for the 4x2. Mustang dual sump won't work, you'll need the steel one or the cast aluminum one, not sure right now which, from an Explorer. I just posted a picture at some site showing the difference. That link that Alaskan155 posted has all the good stuff in it with just a few things missing or glossed over.
