I swapped a 5.0 into my 3.0 98 Ranger about 8 months ago, now for some reason it will occasionally run crappy like the vacuum is gone,
what I have done so far:
read the codes, the only one I have is the evap solenoid can't remember the code I think 704, I totally plugged off the evap system no difference
changed the coil packs, plugs, IAC valve, MAF, TPS, bloked off the egr, PCV valve which was stuck open, checked for a vacuum leak by disconnecting all the hoses, fuel filter, fuel pressure reads 40 @ idle 45 off idle,
I'm at a total loss here I don't know what to do next at this point, it seems to occur when lugging the motor down like something is hanging open, then it will go away as fast as it occurs, but what? any suggestions would be great because right now I have to drive my 78 F250 gas hog....Neil
