I changed by head light. GO to start everything blacks out and terminal cord furthest right sparks. What did I do?

Well it sounds like you shorted a wire to ground. take a look at the plug to the light and make sure none of the wires have worn insulation and are laying against anything metal.

I know this is a dumb question. But is the ground wire the negative? if so where and what does it connect to? Where could it be loose? Everything was fine until I added the new headlight.

Yes, negative cable is ground. It simply goes down and connects to the frame and/or the engine block.
