I have a 87 ford ranger 2.3 liter it has 2 fuel pumps one in the tank I replaced it didn't replace the one on the chassis . Before I replace the pump in the tank the truck would drive for about 10 miles n cut off now it shuts off after ilding 2 minute is this a sign that the other pump is the problem ? If I hold the throttle half way it won't shut off

Generally, if the fuel pump is bad, it either won't start, or it will start and run badly. It shouldn't cause the truck to start, run for several minutes, and die. What does your fuel pressure look like when it's running? Does pressure drop off when it dies? What made you think the fuel pump was the problem in the first place?
