[gt40 mountaineer]

I have a'94 Ranger, 2.3, Mazda 5 speed that's stuck in fourth. I've attempted to manipulate the linkage, couldn't get it moving enough to attempt a torque shift, then put it on stands and attempted to slip it out of gear while running.
Short of pulling the trans back out (did a clutch) anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish this?

I think you have to separate the lever to the transmission , and then unlock the mechanism. there are 4 bolts or something like that.
