I am working on a friends 1995 B2300 4 cyl/manual. I am replacing the valve cover gasket. I have everything disconnected and unbolted. The valve cover is loose but I can not get it off the motor. It seems to be hitting the firewall and I can't raise it high enough to clear the cam. I have searched the sight and couldn't find any tricks. I was wondering if I have to drop the trans cross member and tilt the motor down.

Any ideas or tricks?

Thanks for your help

i remember on my old one, i had to kind of tilt it and lift the front first, then rotate it a little bit.

Just let the air out of the tires on the front and it should come right out...lol

Mine is the same way...and as Pillen says, lift it and tilt it a bit and it will come off...I think mine also comes off if I lift it about an inch and roll it towards the passenger side...clearing the bearing/cam towers is the problem...but it will come off and go on with a bit of practice...

Thanks I'll try again. Was it easier removing the engine wiring harness from the passenger side? I was trying to work around it
