Ok, I have a 92 ranger 2wd, I have the EFI 5.0 in place and
almost ready to start, the doner engine is from a 91 Grand Marq.
I used the stock Exhaust manifolds and the steering shaft hits the
manifold at the lower joint in the shaft. What have other shafts have a
low profile u-joint at the steering gear end? Any one ran into this?
What exhaust manifolds work the best? I am on a budget so keepin
things cheep is helpfull.

Thanks.
Andrew

I think some guys have used the arostar (sp?) van steering joint.

If you have the rubber rag joint shaft loose it reguardless. You can find a manifold in the junkyard that willl fit or if you want to use headers. Yes the Aerostar shaft will work; I'm using one. It uses a U-joint. It will be a bolt on deal but you will have to play with the shaft to get your steering wheel to point straight.

You'd be better off ditching the Vic manifolds. There are many headers that clear the steering shaft with no mods. Hedman 89500, 88400, Shelby Tri-Y's, Explorer manifolds, Torque Monsters, etc. There are more that do that escape my memory as well as these do.
